According to an official statement released on Sunday, a collaboration between the Jammu and Kashmir police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) resulted in the dismantling of a terrorist cell operating in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. This operation led to the apprehension of five members associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist organization.
Additionally, a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition, comprising two handguns, three hand grenades, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), two pistol magazines, 12 pistol rounds, and 21 AK-47 rounds, was confiscated from their possession.
The statement further identified the arrested individuals as Aadil Hussain Wani, Suhail Ahmad Dar, Aitmad Ahmad Laway, Mehraj Ahmad Lone, and Sabzar Ahmad Khaar.
Prior to this operation, in August, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in conjunction with the 26 Assam Rifles and the 3rd BN CRPF, thwarted the efforts of Pakistan-based terrorist facilitators to revive terrorist activities in North Kashmir's Bandipora district, marking another successful counter-terrorism effort.
