India uncovers significant network involved in funding jihadist terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out a series of raids in Kashmir on Monday, investigating an alleged conspiracy involving newly-formed branches of banned Pakistani-supported terrorist groups. The objective of this conspiracy was to disrupt the stability of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a press release by the NIA, twelve locations in Kulgam, Bandipora, Shopian, and Pulwama districts were raided during the operation. These locations consisted of residential properties where individuals associated with the newly-formed branches and supporters of banned terrorist organizations resided. The agency conducted extensive searches of premises belonging to sympathizers and members of these organizations.

During the raids, the NIA discovered numerous digital devices containing significant amounts of incriminating data. These findings will aid in the ongoing investigation.

The premier investigating agency is examining several newly-formed terrorist groups, including The Resistance Front (TRF), the United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir (ULFJ&K), the Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), the Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), the Kashmir Tigers, and the PAAF. These groups have affiliations with Pakistan-backed organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr, and Al-Qaeda, all of which have been banned by the Indian government.
