In Egypt, a Muslim murders a Christian using a bulldozer, citing hatred for Christians as the motive

A young man in Egypt experienced a tragic loss when he was killed by a colleague who expressed hatred towards Christians and cited the victim's faith as the reason for the murder.

Fadi, an architect who had been working at the company for several years, was joined by Mohammed, a bulldozer driver, more recently. On 15th May, a week after Fadi's birthday, Mohammed attacked Fadi while operating the bulldozer during work. Fadi attempted to flee, but Mohammed relentlessly pursued him until his life was taken.

Mohammed admitted to the crime and spent four days in prison before being transferred to a mental health hospital for treatment. The extent to which psychological issues played a role in the attack remains uncertain, but such issues are sometimes used by Muslim extremists as an excuse to evade prosecution for their attacks against Christians.

As is often the case for families affected by persecution in Egypt, there is little assurance that Fadi's family will receive justice through the legal system. Despite the uncertainty and immense pain they are enduring, they have already chosen to forgive Mohammed.
