History of Tibetan refugees in India

We all know that Dharamshala which is situated in Himachal Pradesh is a place for all the Tibetan refugees. They have been living there for many years. Himachal Pradesh has been a tourist spot, the nature, the view, everything is very beautiful in that place. The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan, announced that he will stay in India forever and has no plans to return to Tibet. In 1959, following the brutal suppression of the Tibetan national uprising in Lhasa by Chinese troops, the Dalai Lama was forced to escape into exile and since then he has been living in Dharamsala, northern India.

The Dalai Lama also said that he loves India so much, it has snow capped mountains, valleys, lakes and beautiful forests. Tibetans saw their country invaded by the Chinese government in 1949, which led to increasingly oppressive conditions that finally resulted in Tibetan resistance of 1959 where millions of Tibetans were killed, forcing His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to seek refuge in India along with 80,000 Tibetans. And after that many Tibetans came to India and now they are living in India like other citizens of India. The 14th Dalai Lama has met many times with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and also given his blessings.
