Numerous Hindu girls, predominantly from marginalized backgrounds, are forcibly taken by individuals identifying as Islamists. These abductors employ firearms to seize these girls, subjecting them to extended periods of torment until they yield to pressure and embrace a new Islamic identity.
In a recent incident, an 11-year-old Hindu girl named Jiji Bheel was kidnapped at gunpoint by an Islamist who was more than twice her age. This incident took place in Tando Allahyar, within the Umerkot district of Pakistan. Tando Allahyar village, located in the Sindh province, has gained notoriety for instances involving the abduction, sexual assault, and coerced conversion of minority Hindu girls. The abductor in this case was identified as a 28-year-old man named Azim Ghumrani.
Several social media accounts linked to minority rights in Pakistan have shared information regarding this event. The Umerkot police intervened after the abduction and took the girl into custody at the police station. Concerns have arisen that, following the abduction, the girl might face a fate similar to forced conversion and coerced marriage, effectively becoming a slave in the coming months.
This disturbing incident comes just one week after another case where a minor Hindu girl named Ekta Kumari Sonaro was abducted from Kada Bazaar in Karachi, Sindh province. Unfortunately, there have been no updates on Ekta's whereabouts since the abduction took place.
