Christian widow in Pakistan killed by a Muslim while returning from work for rejecting Islam

According to sources, a Christian family in Lahore, Pakistan, is demanding justice and protection after a widow was abducted, gang-raped, and murdered by four Muslims for refusing to convert to Islam and marry the main suspect. Last month, the attackers slashed Shazia Imran's neck and poured acid on her, though it is unclear whether the acid burns were inflicted before or after her death. The primary suspect has confessed to the crime, as stated by the police.

Shazia Imran's husband had also been killed a year and a half ago, but the family has not received any justice in that case either, as the police labeled it as an accident, according to her brother, Zafar Masih.

After her husband's death, Shazia Masih started working as a nanny at a daycare center in Lahore. On June 6, she left her rented home in Mehar Town to go to work but never returned, as explained by Zafar Masih. He revealed that the main suspect, Noman (known as Mani) Gujjar, was a notorious criminal in the area and had been pressuring Shazia to convert to Islam along with her children and marry him.

Zafar Masih informed Morning Star News that Shazia didn't disclose this to her family due to concerns for their safety. However, three days before her abduction, she confided in another relative about Gujjar's threat to kill her if she didn't comply with his demand.

When Shazia Masih's eldest son, aged 16, informed Zafar Masih that his mother hadn't returned home, they initiated a search. Failing to locate her, they reported her disappearance to the police on June 7.

Zafar Masih stated, "Later in the day, we received a call from the Hyer police station informing us that they had found a body on a plot of land matching Shazia's description. When we saw the body, we couldn't believe our eyes. Shazia's jugular vein had been cut with a sharp object, and her body had been severely burned with acid."
