The Swiss nonprofit organization operating in Afghanistan fell victim to a raid by the Taliban, during which 18 employees, one of whom was American, were apprehended on suspicion of promoting Christianity, as reported by the Afghan government.
The International Assistance Mission (IAM) verified this incident, stating that the Taliban forcibly entered its Ghor-based office, situated approximately 400 miles away from Kabul, on two separate occasions, first on September 3rd and then on September 13th, resulting in the capture of nearly 20 of its staff members. In the initial attack, three individuals, including the American citizen, were seized, while the remaining 15 were taken captive ten days later during the second raid.
