WHAT AND
WHY WE ARE DOING THIS
?

Why

We will cherish and celebrate the month of October - the month a great human being and a world leader, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was born in the small town of Porbandar. Popularly, we know him as Gandhiji. He lived and breathed the values such as world peace, integrity, hard work, passion, and supporting entrepreneurial spirit.

We are challenging humanity to live like Gandhiji. If a garden variety baby born in Porbandar transforms into Mahatma Gandhi, why not we transform ourselves into happy members of our big family?

To this date, we are celebrating Gandhiji’s birthday and asking you to participate in different programs to celebrate the idea of Vasudev Kutukabam (the world is one family), Love thy neighbor, and Tikkun Olam (heal the world).

What

Why are we fighting with each other for issues such as equality, justice, gender, climate, wealth, and other issues? We need a messiah or a rishi to lead us out of the abyss.

A rishi who practiced what he preached. A rishi who did not divide us by sloganeering. A rishi who did not charm us with crafty rhetoric or charisma. A rishi who experimented throughout his life to improve himself and humanity.

We want to create a festival of unity based on Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji’s transformation from no-known person Mohandas to Mahatma, a great soul, can inspire us to promote:

  • Love thy neighbor

  • Tikkun Olam (Heal the world)

  • Vasudev Kutumbakam (The world is one family)

We start the festival on Oct 02, 2022; Putlibai gave birth to Mohandas on Oct 02, 1869.

We culminate our festivities on Deepavali, the festival of light.

Please join us in ushering in light of hope and rejuvenation by saying goodbye to darkness.

Thank you for your participation.
